Denise Tyler has stepped down as a director of Queens Park Tennis Club. We would like to say a warm ‘thank you’ for the important role she has played during a crucial period of our club’s recent history.
Denise, formerly Press Operations Manager at the Wimbledon Championships, became a QPTC director in 2017 just as the club was transitioning from being a council facility to its present status as an independent, self-funded parks club. She personally managed QPTC’s successful application to become a Community Interest Company.
As well as attending countless meetings and managing many tricky administrative tasks, Denise was an active bar girl, and a performer at our inaugural – and very successful – Open Mic night.
Denise’s experience in crisis management has helped guide the club through a couple of bumpy patches. QPTC’s swift and comprehensive response to the Covid-19 crisis was largely down to her.
“We’ve been blessed to have someone with her wisdom and experience as a director. Denise helped Queens Park Tennis Club just when we needed it most, and has made a lasting contribution to the health of our club,” said fellow director Conrad Brunner.
