Court Lighting Returns

Court lighting returns to Queens Park Tennis Club this week, with courts now open for booking by members and visitors.

The necessary application for court lighting has now been approved by BHCC’s City Development & Regeneration department.

Courts 1 & 2 are available for booking immediately.

Jacob Chadwick says: “I am very pleased to confirm that we now have written discharge of conditions for the three key conditions for which I applied on the club’s behalf.”

Jacob has been representing QPTC in this matter, and – notwithstanding a significant delay, out of our control – the committee is satisfied that this hurdle has now been overcome.

Committee statement: “We are delighted that this approval has now been granted. Members and visitors can now book court time to play tennis under lights at QPTC, now and in the future. This is a major step forward for the club. We remind all visitors to respect our neighbours, and to observe club rules at all times.”

Last week, QPTC signed an agreement with Brighton & Hove City Council for a 25 year lease of the six courts and the clubhouse. Details
